Punjab govt to provide best health facilities: Nazir

KASUR: Punjab Minister for Health Khawaja Imran Nazir has said that government is committed to provide modern health facilities to the people of Punjab for which maximum resources are being spent.

He stated this while visiting District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Kasur accompanied by Secretary Health Ali Jan Khan. Deputy Commissioner Kasur Saira Umer and other senior officers and notables were present on the occasion.

He said that huge allocation of Rs. 260 billion for health sector by the Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif is the reflection of his people-friendly policies.

Kh. Imran Nazir said that revamping of DHQ hospital Kasur will be completed very soon through which latest health facilities would be available at local level.

He also inspected the newly installed CT scan machine in the hospital. He said that Punjab government is spending huge funds for the provision of health facilities. He said that emergencies of the hospitals are being improved, provision of free medicines has been ensured in the hospitals.

The Minister said that on the direction of Chief Minister, free ambulance service has been launched for pregnant rural women. Moreover, free diagnosis, treatment and provision of medicines for hepatitis patients is also being ensured.

Kh. Imran Nazir said that launching of mobile health units, revamping of district headquarters and tehsil headquarters hospitals, training and capacity building of doctors, nurses and paramedical staff and their availability in the hospitals are the few historic initiatives taken by the present government.

The Minister P&SH revealed that healthy people play very important role in economic activities of the country and create a healthy society. Therefore, the government is paying special attention for the development of health sector for which historic budget has been allocated.

The Minister urged upon the doctors, nurses and paramedics to discharge their duties with the spirit of humanitarian service with honesty and professional dedication.

Later, Kh. Imran Nazir visited newly constructed emergency block, CT scan machine and the wards of the hospital. He inquired after the health of the patients and listened their problems. He expressed satisfaction over the ongoing construction/development work in the hospital, cleanliness and security arrangements.
