Punjab govt starts re-evaluation security of Chinese nationals

F.P. Report

LAHORE: The Punjab government has started to re-evaluate the security of the Chinese nationals who came to Pakistan with independent status.

According to sources in Home Department, any Chinese national arriving for CPEC or non-CPEC visit will not be able to travel without a bombproof vehicle.

Sources said that the government increased the number of bombproof vehicles from 17 to 50 for Chinese residents.

Moreover, a bombproof vehicle pool has also been set up at S&GAD, which will provide bombproof vehicles during any movement of Chinese nationals.

Sources further said that Chinese citizens coming to Pakistan as independents are reluctant to use mobile apps and Chinese people’s lack of interest in using mobile apps has been declared an important issue at the APEX meeting.

Chinese residents will be forced to use the mobile app, sources said.

The mobile app will monitor and track the location of Chinese nationals, Home Department sources said.

According to sources in the Home Department the Chinese authorities have been informed about the security of the Chinese coming to Pakistan in independent status.

A Chinese security intelligence unit has also been established in the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), officials said.
