Punjab’s CS, IGP to appear before ECP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Secretary Punjab and Inspector General of Police Punjab to appear before the Election Commission of Pakistan on March 4, the officials notified on Thursday.

ECP has directed them on their negligence in fulfillment of duties during bye-poll in constituency NA-75 Sialkot-IV, along with this the commission has also instructed to transfer Commissioner Gujran-wala Division and RPO Gujranwala Region from their existing positions.

The Election commission of Pakistan has also ordered the Establishment Division to suspend Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, AC Sialkot and District Police Officer Sialkot and als or-dered the federal and Pu-njab governments to suspe-nd DSP Sumbrial and DSP Daska and avoid assigning them further such duties.
Regarding initiating the inquiry, the commission said that it will kick off inquiry against these officers or direct federal or provincial governments to start investigation.
