Qandeel Baloch’s parents change statement to save son

MULTAN (NNI): In a bid to save their son, Qandeel Baloch’s parents on Tuesday backtracked from their earlier statement that Waseem killed her sister.

Qandeel’s father has said that she was murdered by her cousin Haq Nawaz and not Waseem who was only standing near them.

Model Qandeel Baloch, who shot to fame for her provocative selfies, was strangled in July last year by her brother Muhammad Waseem. He said she had brought shame on the family and confessed to his crime in a press conference after his arrest.

The social media sensation posed for selfies with Mufti Abdul Qavi in an incident that saw him swiftly rebuked by the religious affairs ministry.

Qavi is currently in police custody in connection with the case. Multan’s session court has on Monday adjourned the hearing of the case till November 20 due to unfinished interrogation from Mufti Abdul Qavi.

Police opted stance that the challan cannot be completed until Mufti Abdul Qavi is investigated completely. A petition was filed by the police in the court to get details of the bank accounts of Mufti Qavi, which has been accepted.

On the other hand, Qandeel Baloch’s father has accused that Abdul Qavi is pressurizing them to settle the case by taking money. He maintained that Mufti is offering the deal through various people, and affirmed that he is the reason behind her murder.
