Quarantined Dir villages provided with food, sanitizers

TIMERGARA: Residents of two quarantined villages at Talash on Sunday were provided with medical assistance, sanitizers and ration to ease their hardships. The district administration and health department set up a free medical camp in the affected village of Ziarat Talash where Dr Arshad and Dr Irshad Rughani checked patients. The Timergara assistant commissioner Shah Jamil Khan along, TMO Pervez Akhtar, district police officer Abdul Rasheed Khan, SDPO Farooq Jan and other officials also visited the affected villages and asked the inhabitants to stay at home. The lock down in Talash and other areas of the district continued for sixth consecutive day.

Focal person for Corona control cell Dr Irshad Ali told local journalists at Talash that samples of seven close relative of the Covid-19 victim had been sent to NIH Islamabad with the request to send its results as soon as possible. He said that secondary contacts would also be tested for Corona virus in vase of positive results in primary contacts.

The Al-Khidmat Foundation Lower Dir chapter distributed food packages among 100 families of the quarantined villages. The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) also handed over the following items to 3 Quarantine Centers at THQ hospital Talash, RHC Gulabad and University Public School Chakdara. Each hygiene set contained blankets, kitchen sets, Jerry canes and personal protective equipment.

The Lower Dir police also arrested several persons at Munda and Chakdara for violating the lock down. On the directives of deputy commissioner Saadat Hassan the Afghan refugees at Chakdara were asked to be confined to their homes. A bridegroom identified as Muhammad Rehan of Warsak Talash was booked for violating section 144 crpc.
