Quetta Gladiators outclass Peshawar Zalmi to lift PSL 2019

KARACHI: Thanks to some disciplined bowling and batting display, Quetta Gladiators outclass Peshawar Zalmi in almost a one-sided final to lift the Pakistan Super League 2019 title by 8 wickets.

Zalmi have set a lower than expected 139-run target which the Gladiators chased with 12 balls remaining. Gladiator’s openere Ahmed Shehzad scored 59 not out while Rilee Rossouw scored 39 not out to give Quetta a well deserved trophy.

Earlier, Gladiator skipper Sarfraz Ahmad won the toss and elected to field first.

Zalmi lost their inform opener Imamul Haq for just 3 runs in the second over. He was caught by Ahmad Shehzad on the bowling of Hasnain.

Kamran Akmal soon followed when he was dismissed off Mohammad Nawaz’s delivery at the end of the 4th over. He put up 21 runs off 15 balls.

Zalmi never looked in control and kept on loosing wickets at the regular intervals. Only Umar Amin showed some resistance and scored 38 off 33 balls. Hasnain was the pick of the bowlers with three wickets.

Quetta Gladiators marked their victory in the third PSL final they reached in four years.
