Qureshi wants to take Imran Khan’s positions: Khurshid Shah

ISLAMABAD (INP): Opposition leader in National Assembly Syed Khurshid Shah on Thursday claimed that Shah Mahmood Qureshi wants to take position of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan.

Syed Khursheed Shah’s statement is in reaction to Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s efforts to take the position of leader of the opposition in the national assembly.

Khurshid Shah said that Federal Minister for Railways Saad Rafique’s statement is right as we will do whatever Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari wants.

On the other hand, Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari will return to Pakistan from Dubai to prepare new plan after meeting opposition parties.

PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari termed attempts for replacement of opposition leader ‘threat to parliament’s stability’. He claimed that PTI and MQM are busy in conspiring against the parliamentary system despite the fact that both the parties had remained in conflict with each other in the past.

Earlier, PTI’s efforts to replace Khurshid Shah as leader of the opposition in the NA suffered a major setback when several parties included Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q), Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) and Awami National Party (ANP) refused to support their stance.

There are open differences in the PTI as well over nominating Qureshi as opposition leader and now it has reportedly been decided that Imran Khan will be candidate for the position.
