MUMBAI: It’s been raining biopics in Bollywood. Last year saw Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju hitting the screens and was immensely loved by the audience. While there are several biopics in the making, the latest we hear is one on maestro Bappi Lahiri is being planned.

In his recent conversation with a news portal, Bappi Lahiri revealed that he has been approached for a film on his life by various people but he is yet to take the final decision. However, he did confirm that his biopic will go on floors this year.

In his statement, the music icon said, “Yes, a lot of people are approaching me to make a film on my life but I haven’t finalised anything. The biopic should start this year.”

Bappi Lahiri further added that he would like to see Simmba star Ranveer Singh play his younger version in the biopic. He added, “Actor Ranveer Singh could probably play my younger version…you know the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s time.”

Ranveer has often mentioned that he’s a huge Bappi Lahiri fan and the actor even gave a special tribute to him at the 63rd Filmfare Awards last year.
