KARACHI (PPI): Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQMP) leaders Rauf Siddiqui and Rehan Hashmi on Thursday secured pre-arrest bails fearing detention.

Rauf Siddiqui feared that he could be nabbed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) while Rehan Hashmi preempted an action from police.

Former provincial minister Rauf Siddiqui requested a bail from Sindh High Court against certificates worth Rs 500,000. Siddiqui faces charges of misuse of authority, corruption and illegally promoting Grade-7 officers to 14th, 16th and 17th grades. NAB officials had summoned him for an inquiry.

On the other hand, Rehan Hashmi moved Sindh High Court in order to avoid arrest. The court approved his 4-day bail plea in 21 cases of incisive speeches. The court ordered him to submit a guarantee worth Rs 50,000 for each case registered against him.
