Real minister in Punjab is Rana Sana Ullah, says CJP

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked real minister in Punjab is Rana Sana Ullah. “ as to why Rana Sana Ullah should not be summoned. He is real minister in Punjab.  They are ruling in centre and Punjab”, The CJP gave these remarks while presiding over a 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) during the course of hearing the suo motu case related to  illegal structures and environmental degradation in Bani Gala Tuesday. During the course of hearing of the case, Additional Attorney General (AAG) told the court Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry could not be contacted as he is outside the country at present. Please give more time. CJP remarked it is the time which is not available. We wanted to deal with this case today. All the parties should sit today and find out solution to the problems. We give the decision today after hearing the parties concerned.

The CJP remarked there are three problems, one issue is  of encroachments in botanical garden, second issue is  should we regularize   the  encroachments or penalize which have been raised and third issue is polluted water in Rawal dam.

We cannot prolong this case further. Chairman CDA told the court that letter would be written to federal government for regularization of illegal constructions. Satellite survey will have to be got conducted before regularizing them. CJP remarked it is better that you should take  the file with you to the ministry instead of writing the letter. There is solution to every thing. But there should be determination to do the work.

The law officer said that chief secretary Punjab should  be summoned in demarcation case. CJP remarked as to why Rana Sana Ullah be not summoned. Real minister in Punjab is Rana Sana Ullah. They are at the helm of affairs in centre and Punjab. Bring the solutions to  all the problems on next hearing. Give the name of those who have to be summoned. Find out solution to the problems otherwise the law will take its course. No adjournment will be given in the cases related to fundamental rights and cases of public interest. The court issued notices to those who have obtained state land on lease on Rawal dam.

The CJP remarked the real issue is to save Rawal dam from pollution. Plan be given to stop flow of contaminated water into Rawal dam.   The chairman CDA said that the locals living in the areas adjacent to Rawal dam will build septic tanks in their homes to save Rawal dam from polluted water. Justice Omar Ata Bandial remarked “ it is a temporary solution.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till Tuesday on the request of Additional Attorney General.
