WASHINGTON (INP): The United States (US) president Donald Trump hailed the effort of Pakistan army for the recovery of a foreigner family, who were abducted in 2012, and termed it a positive step.
“It is a positive moment in between Pakistan and Us ties,” Us president said in his reaction over the recovery of the foreigners today.
President Donald Trump told a crowd in Pennsylvania that “something happened today where a country that totally disrespected us called with some very, very important news.”
“This is a country that did not respect us, this is a country that respects us now. The world is starting to respect us again, believe me,” Trump said appearing to reference Pakistan and that country’s role in bringing about the the recovery of the four hostages.
Earlier today, Pakistan Army has recovered a family of foreign hostages from the captivity of terrorists, in an intelligence based operation, military media wing Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR) said in its release.
An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement on Thursday today said the hostages included a Canadian, his American wife, and their three children.
ISPR said that the hostages were recovered through an intelligence-based operation by Pakistani troops when they were being shifted from Afghanistan on last night.
“They were captured by terrorists from Afghanistan in 2012 and kept as hostages there,” the ISPR handout release said.
