Reforms inevitable to develop provincial governance system: CM

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan said on Monday that reforms in provincial governance would bring positive change and improve the economy of the province.

Speaking at a meeting held here Chief Minister’s House, he said that there was big need of reforms in the prevalent system of the province.

Mahmood Khan stated that due to ineffective planning and inefficient strategy the department of minerals was not playing its due role in improving the economical condition of the province.

“It was the need of the day to bring a revolution in the economy of the country but it was only possible when all of the stakeholders, politicians and departments determine to work on one page with a sole aim of development of the country,” he said and added that KP provincial government would be focusing its all attentions on the financial planning and reforms after coming budget.

“All of the departments would be bound be to provide reforms within allowed time frame,” he asserted.

He maintained that concrete reforms would be brought in the departments to prevent corruption and other missuses of authorities and powers.

“All vacant positions in department to add more effects to those changes in the old systems in the province,” he said and added that load of Public Service Commission to be lessened by introducing new reforms in the recruiting system.
