Reham Khan Foundation to establish health centers in Lakki

LAKKI MARWAT: Renowned journalist, Ms Reham Khan announced on Monday that her foundation would set up computer education and mother and child health centers in Lakki Marwat district.

She was speaking at the opening ceremony of second Marwat Sports Gala at Children Park in Lakki city.  She along with former federal secretary Akhtar Munir Marwat and JUI-F tehsil Nazim Haji Hidayatullah Khan opened the sports gala and said that those who ordered closing circuit houses for her stay should know that people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have opened the gates of their houses for her.

“No one can dare to seize my way nor can stop me to go anywhere in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”, she made clear, adding that her voice for people’s problems and rights could not be pressed on phone calls or through text messages.

She stressed the need for equipping local women with vocational training and said that the provision of employment would bring prosperity and would also raise living standard of local residents.

Head of Marwat Qaumi Jirga Haji Muhammad Aslam Khan, former district nazim advocate Haji Qudratullah Khan, former Lakki tehsil nazim advocate Fareedullah Khan Meenakhel, district councilors Shafqatullah Khan and Waheed Aslam Khan, area elders, sports lovers and people from different walks of life were in the attendance.

Tehsil nazim Mr. Hidayatullah said that the local government had organized the gala to provide opportunities to the youths and local players to take part in Kabbadi, cricket, volleyball, football, tent pegging, archery and badminton and tug of war game events.

He said that besides holding poetry session, traditional games would be promoted through sports gala. The former federal secretary underlined the need for promotion of games and said that the platform of sports events should not be used to gain political interests. He assured that area elders would extend all out support to the local government authorities to organize sports gala every year.
