Release of QTM president sought

LANDI KOTAL: Central leadership of Qabail Tahaffuz Movement (QTM) demanded of the authorities concerned to set free President of the movement, arrested by the police in Dohbi Bukhash Goth, Karachi last week.

Addressing to a press conference here in LandiKotal press club on Thursday central general sectary of QTM Sardar Asghar Afridi said that on middle night of 03 and 04 January,2020,Karachi police officials raided residency of their President Nooruddin alias Abu Sufyan, took him with them and shifted to undisclosed destination. “Raising voice for the rights of the tribesmen is the main cause behind the detention behind their leader”, he said and asked the Sindh government and Inspector General Police, Sindh to release their President forthwith with respect.

Flanked by Khyber chief of QTM, Malik Daud Sardar Asghar Afridi also criticized the Peshawar police officials for their raids carried out in Bara bazaar without informing the local administration that was violation of law. Not a single deed, imposed on tribal prior to their consent would be unacceptable to them, they said and adding keeping in view poor economic and political condition of the country, the prevailed situation of merged districts was going from bad to worse. They were on the view that they were striving hard to win a separate province for the tribesmen beside provision of their due share in NFC award and other basic rights. They threatened that if their problems were not addressed immediately, they would suspend the Pak-Afghan road for all kind of movement for indefinite time.
