Remembering Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan: Legend qawwal remembered on his birth anniversary

LAHORE : Anyone with a slight tendency to hear the classical music and qawwalis will be a huge admirer of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s unique style and melodious voice.

With a pure and perfect voice for a qawwal, he gained worldwide popularity with performances in many countries.

On his 76th birthday, here is a little tribute to the music mastero who had sung matchless songs and qawwalis with heavenly skills that even to this day, he is widely regarded as the master of his craft.

He was born on October 13, 1948 in Jhang Bazar in Faisalabad. His family was also involved in the music industry. Hence, he was trained in this very field from childhood.

He sang hundreds of popular songs and qawwalis. His magical voice is the reason that he is the ideal of younger musicians.

His famous qawwalis include Dam Mast Qalandar Mast, Ali Mola Ali, Ye Jo Halka Halka Suroor Hai, Mera Piya Ghar Aya, Allah Hu Allah Hu, Kina Sohna Tenu Rab ne Banaya and Meri Zindagi Hai Tu.
