Renowned stage actor Tariq Teddy passes away

F.P. Report

LAHORE: Famous Pakistani stage actor and comedian Tariq Teddy breathed his last in Lahore on Saturday morning. He was 46.

His son Junaid Tariq confirmed the news of his father’s death. He said that doctors pronounced his father dead after he vomited blood Friday night.

Tariq Teddy was rushed to Lahore’s Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and Research Centre about three weeks ago and was straight away put on a ventilator after his health deteriorated due to liver-related illness, his family said.

He was initially shifted to the intensive care unit but health deteriorated further and he had been put on a ventilator in wake of the liver infection.

Physicians revealed that the liver of the famous comedian had stopped working, which was a life-threatening condition that resulted due to long-term inflammation.

Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the death of famous comedian Tariq Teddy.

In a statement on Saturday, the minister said Tariq Teddy played brilliant roles in stage plays and Punjabi films and brought smiles to people’s faces with his humour and artistry.

Paying tribute to the late actor, the minister said he left his fans sad today but he will always be remembered for his exemplary contribution in the field of art.

She prayed for his eternal peace and patience for his bereaved family.
