Renowned writer Munnu Bhai dies at 84 in Lahore

LAHORE: Veteran Pakistani drama writer, columnist, poet and intellectual Muneer Ahmed Qureshi known as Munnu Bhai died on Friday at the age of 84 in Lahore.

Munna Bhai who is the writer of famous PTV drama, Sona Chandi, took his last breath at a private hospital. He had been shifted to hospital after he suffered from the chest infection and kidney ailment in December.

His funeral prayers will be offered at his residence in Lahore after Asar prayer.

Appreciating his performance, he has been awarded Pride of Performance Award by the President of Pakistan in 2007 for his services to the nation.
