PESHAWAR: A divisional bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising of Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Waqar forwarded a case against illegal recruitments in Rescue 1122 for former Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Erstwhile FATA) to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for probe, on Monday.
The counsel argued that in 2019 several vacancies were advertised for different positions in Rescue 1122 for districts of erstwhile FATA. He argued that outsiders were recruited on the vacancies sanctioned for residents of the Mohmand tribal district. The rules and regulations are abrogated as well as violated during the recruitment process while ineligible people were also appointed in Rescue 1122 at erstwhile FATA, the counsel argued.
The challenged Rescuers didn’t possess experience for the advertised positions but were recruited on political affiliation and nepotism, the lawyer added. The counsel requested for granting status quo against the recruitment till final decision.
PHC’s divisional bench comprised Justice Shakeel Ahmad and Justice Waqar Ahmad forwarded the plea for to NAB for inquiry regarding irregularities in recruitment of Rescue 1122 personnel for erstwhile FATA while observed that the petitioner may approach the court after NAB’s probe.
Meanwhile, PHC’s Justice Sahibzada Asadullah confirmed bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Hangu president Yousaf Khan, arrested for obtaining direct power connection. The counsel Syed Sikandar Hayat advocate argued that the petitioner is nominated in a case for obtaining direct power connection despite the electricity meter didn’t register on Yousaf Khan name.
The case is registered for political victimization because he serves PTI as president Hangu district, the petitioner claimed. PHC’s Justice Sahibzada Asadullah confirmed bail plea of PTI’s Hangu president after conclusion of arguments.
