MICHIGAN: Research conducted by the University of Michigan revealed TikTok to be the app children and teens use more than two hours a day, on Friday.
The study stated that children from 11 to 17 use TikTok for more than two hours a day and barely go to Facebook despite it being the biggest social media platform.
The reason for TikTok being the most used app was that teenagers prefer watching content to reading it.
The youngsters, on average spend only a minute on Facebook whereas they spend around 10 minutes on Snapchat and 16 on Instagram.
Second to TikTok comes YouTube with the average time spent on to be 40 minutes.
The study conducted to know about the way youngsters use their smartphones revealed that more than fifty per cent of the users receive around 237 notifications on average per day.
