Resolution condemning NZ mosques attack submitted in Punjab Assembly

F.P. Report

LAHORE A resolution condemning attack on New Zealand mosques that killed 50 Muslims has been submitted in Punjab Assembly today (Saturday).

According to details, the resolution urged western states to take steps for prevention of such incidents.

Earlier, Pakistan’s High Commissioner in New Zealand Moazzam Shah has confirmed that six Pakistani citizens have been killed in Friday’s terrorist attack on two mosques in Christchurch.

On March 15, attacks on two Christchurch mosques left at least 49 dead on Friday.

The gunman at one mosque was an Australian-born citizen, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said in Sydney, describing him as “an extremist, right-wing, violent terrorist”.

New Zealand police described it as “extremely distressing” and urged web users not to share it.

A manifesto had also been posted online on accounts linked to the same Facebook page, suggesting the attack was racially motivated.
