Restoration of mobile, internet services in Wana demanded

WANA: Hundreds of tribesmen including college students, social workers, leaders of political leaders and people of all walks took out protest rally in Wana bazaar and demanded to restore the mobile and internet services in the area.

Rally was passing through various markets in Wana bazaar and concluded in front of FC camp gate. Rally participants raised full throat slogans for the immediate opening of both mobile and internet services in Wana. Pak-Afghan and Wana bazaar and scouts camp roads remained closed for two hours due to sit-in of the participants on chowk in front of FC Babal gate.

College president Shabir ahmad said that they would continue their protest till meeting the demands of the public while addressing the huge gathering of tribesmen.  ANP provincial joint secretary, Muhammad Ayaz Wazir said that it was the main responsibility of government to open mobile and internet services in Wana to take benefit from the latest technology in the present time of communication.

He added that mobile facility is the need of hour to have communication with our dear ones working abroad in gulf countries. Irshad Abbas Khel, student of degree college Wana told this scribe that he had no contact with his family members for the twelve days as he has no national identity card being an underage student of college.

The public call centers in Wana bazaar demand national identity card for calling to my family members. He revealed.  Lt. Colonel Mr. Atiq Khan, Major Anas and PNT Wana Faiz Muhammad along with heavy contingent of security personnel reached at FC camp gate and started negotiations with protesting tribesmen to calm down the situation at front of main FC camp gate; and protestors agreed to hold negations at APA office camp.

Assistant Political Agent, Kamran Khan held successful negotiations with leaders of protesting tribesmen at his office. Lt. Colonel Atiq, major Anas from FC side and Political Naib Tehsildar Wana Mr. Faiz Muhammad were also present during the negotiations. After successful negotiations, leaders of tribesmen postponed their protest for five days and rally participants dispersed peacefully.
