Rifts surface in PTI Mardan over party tickets
MARDAN: Differences surfaced in (Mardan Chapter) Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf over issuance of party tickets for the next general elections of 2018. In this regard, the PTI activists belonging to PK-51 and PK-52 constituencies held protest demonstrations against injustice distribution of party tickets followed by a press conference at Mardan Press Club.
The protesters who were calling themselves as ideological PTI activists, chanted slogans against ex-provincial education minister Muhammad Atif Khan. Prominent among the key PTI disgruntle leaders and workers were included Haris Khan Toru, Kalimullah, Abdus Sattar Khan, Mujahid Bacha, Sadiq Bacha and others.
Speaking at the press conference, they lamented that the party had ignored its old and ideological leaders and issued party tickets to turncoats and newcomers who had joined PTI just few months ago just for sake of getting tickets.
They, however, blamed former provincial education minister Muhammad Atif Khan, what they said that they he had misguided the PTI chairman Imran Khan while issuing party tickets to new-comers.
They were of the views that the party leadership had committed historical mistakes in distribution of party-tickets which would bear bad effect on the party in future. They claimed that they would not leave the elections field open for those turncoats and new-comers who had gotten PTI tickets.
On the occasion, they announced the PTI disgruntle leaders Hahris Khan Toru for Pk-51 and Kalimullah for PK-52 would contest polls as independent candidates against the PTI-tickets holders including Zahir Shah Toru and Ameer Farzind Khan respectively.
They also said that they will give those two provincial assembly seats as a gift to PTI chairman Imran Khan if they are elected as KP provincial assembly members in the next general elections. They claimed that they would prove Imran Khan and other party leadership that they wrongly decided about awarding of party tickets to turncoats.
