PESHAWAR: The number of accidents can be reduced in Pakistan if we follow proper safety measures while driving on highways and Motorways.
This was stated by Aftab Ahmad Mahsud, SSP of Islamabad Peshawar motorway sector M1. He was adressing a road safety awareness session at Khybewr Assembly secretariate.
The seminar was arranged by the motorway police to sensitise the respected members, officers and staff of the KP Assembly regarding road sense and educate them on the important road safety tips for their safe travel. SSP motorways explained the main objectives and working of the force. Earlier a detailed multimedia presentation was given by inspector Basir Ilyas.
He elaborated in detail about the road safety measures. He emphasized on the audience to avoide overspeeding and also avoid use of cell phones during driving. Basir also said that fastening safety seat belts and observing the sign boards may help the drivers to avoid accidents.
Basir also showed facts and figures about the causes of accidents. He displayed also some vedio clips regrding road safety that was appreciated by the participants. Secrtery Provincial Assembly Nasrullah Khaatack also spoke on the occassion and he stressed upon all the members and officials to obey road laws for safe travel to their destina and
A question answer session was also held where the nhmp officers satisfactorily responded to the queries of the participants.
Some members of the assembly put forward some suggestions that were related to the NHA and other sister agencies. They were informed that their suggestions would be forwarded to the concerned quartes for redressal.
A road safety stall had also been installed at the venue where the speed checking system and other gadgets had been displayed. The ssp motorway and secretary of the Assembly also exchanged the shields.
