PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser to Chief Minister on Elementary and Secondary Education, Ziaullah Bangash said on Monday that an allocation of Rs.180 Billion has been proposed in upcoming provincial budget for provincial, including merged districts, education department.
Talking to media persons, here at his office, he said that Rs.20 Billion would be allocated to merged districts out of Rs.180 Billion.
He added that a number of educational developmental programs would be initiated this year which include Early Age Education program.
“This said program would be started in 10 thousand schools and under the program about 800 schools would also be constructed,” he said and added that after success of Second Shift School pilot program the scheme would be extended to all the districts including merged districts.
“With the extension of the program children out of schools would be enrolled in schools to educate them,” he stated and added that for the purpose schools would be rented and upgraded.
He said that new fiscal year also include provision of scholarships, Accelerated Learning Programs and voucher schemes.
“Independent Monitoring Unit (IMU) would also be extended to merged districts and would be given a status of authority,” he stated.
