Rupee sheds 24 paisas against dollar

ISLAMABAD: Exchange rate of Pakistani rupee weakened by 24 paisas against the United States dollar in the interbank trading on Wednesday and closed at Rs 176.39 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 176.15.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of US dollar in the open market were recorded at Rs 176.4 and Rs 177.7 respectively.
Similarly, the price of the euro was appreciated by Rs 1.38 and closed at Rs 198.36 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 199.74.

The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs 1.53, whereas a decrease of Rs 2.28 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs 237.42 as compared to its last closing of Rs 239.70.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal increased by 06 paisas to close at Rs 48.02 and Rs 47.01 respectively.
