MOSCOW (TASS) : Russian air defense forces intercepted 13 rockets of the US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket system, a HARM anti-radiation missile and destroyed 22 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the past day during the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Wednesday.
“In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities intercepted 13 rockets of the HIMARS multiple launch rocket system and a HARM anti-radiation missile. In addition, during the last 24-hour period, they destroyed 22 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles in areas near the settlements of Novosyolovka, Petrovskoye and Vesyoloye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Mirnoye, Shcherbaki and Chubarevka in the Zaporozhye Region, Velikaya Lepetikha in the Kherson Region, Veliky Vyselok in the Kharkov Region, Kremennaya, Varvarovka and Kudryashovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the spokesman said.
Russian forces neutralize five Ukrainian subversive groups in Kupyansk area
Russian forces struck Ukrainian army units in the Kupyansk area and neutralized five enemy subversive groups over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
“In the Kupyansk direction, operational/tactical and army aviation aircraft and artillery of the western battlegroup inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army units in areas near the settlements of Gryanikovka and Timkovka in the Kharkov Region and Stelmakhovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. In addition, they foiled the activity of five Ukrainian subversive/reconnaissance groups near the settlements of Novosyolovskoye, Rozovea and Artyomovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Masyutovka and Pershotravnevoye in the Kharkov Region,” the spokesman said.
The strikes eliminated enemy manpower and equipment, the general said.
“As many as 40 Ukrainian personnel, two armored combat vehicles and two pickup trucks were destroyed in that area in the past 24 hours,” Konashenkov reported.
Russian forces thwart Ukrainian army’s counter-attack in Krasny Liman area
Russian forces thwarted a Ukrainian army counter-attack near Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic and destroyed over 80 enemy troops in the Krasny Liman area over the past day, he said.
“In the Krasny Liman direction, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems of the battlegroup Center thwarted a counter-attack by the Ukrainian army near the settlement of Seversk in the Donetsk People’s Republic, and also struck the Ukrainian army units in areas near the settlements of Nevskoye and Chervonaya Dibrova in the Lugansk People’s Republic,” the spokesman said.
The strikes eliminated over 80 Ukrainian personnel, an armored combat vehicle, two motor vehicles and a D-30 howitzer, the general specified.

Russian forces eliminated over 410 Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in their advance in the Donetsk area over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
“In the Donetsk direction, two armored personnel carriers, one tank, four armored combat vehicles, two motor vehicles and a D-30 howitzer were destroyed as a result of active operations by units of the southern battlegroup, strikes by operational/tactical aircraft and artillery fire. The enemy’s manpower losses in that area over the past 24 hours amounted to over 410 Ukrainian personnel and mercenaries,” the spokesman said.
Russian forces wipe out two Ukrainian ammo depots in DPR, Zaporozhye area
Russian forces destroyed two Ukrainian ammunition depots in the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Zaporozhye area over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
In the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye directions, aircraft and artillery of the battlegroup East inflicted damage on the Ukrainian army units in areas near the settlements of Nikolskoye and Novopol in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the spokesman specified.
“As many as 30 Ukrainian personnel, one armored vehicle, two pickup trucks, and also two ammunition depots of Ukrainian army units were destroyed near the settlements of Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Gulyaipole in the Zaporozhye Region in those directions in the past 24 hours,” the general said.
Russian forces neutralize Ukrainian saboteurs in southern Donetsk, Zaporozhye areas
Russian forces thwarted the activity of three Ukrainian subversive groups in the southern Donetsk and Zaporozhye areas over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
“The activity of three subversive/reconnaissance groups was thwarted near the settlements of Vladimirovka, Mirnoye and Nikolskoye,” the spokesman said.
Russian forces destroy 20 Ukrainian troops in Kherson area
Russian forces destroyed roughly 20 Ukrainian troops and a self-propelled howitzer in the Kherson area over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
“In the Kherson direction, as many as 20 Ukrainian personnel, two motor vehicles and an Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer were destroyed by firepower,” the spokesman said.
Russia’s Aerospace Forces down Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter
Russian combat aircraft shot down a Ukrainian MiG-29 fighter jet in the Donetsk People’s Republic over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
“Fighter aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down a Ukrainian Air Force MiG-29 plane in the area of the settlement of Selidovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic,” the spokesman said.
Russian forces strike command posts of two Ukrainian army brigades in DPR
Russian forces struck command/observation posts of two Ukrainian army brigades in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) over the past day, Konashenkov reported.
“In the areas of the settlements of Lastochkino and Novomikhailovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, command/observation posts of battalions from the Ukrainian army’s 110th mechanized and 95th air assault brigades were struck,” the spokesman said.
In the past 24 hours, operational/tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile troops and artillery of the Russian group of forces struck 89 Ukrainian artillery units at firing positions, manpower and equipment in 112 areas, the general specified.
In all, the Russian Armed Forces have destroyed 406 Ukrainian combat aircraft, 228 helicopters, 3,673 unmanned aerial vehicles, 415 surface-to-air missile systems, 8,545 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,078 multiple rocket launchers, 4,504 field artillery guns and mortars and 9,302 special military motor vehicles since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
