Russian Sukhoi Su-24 jet crashes in Syria

MOSCOW: Military spokesman of Russia told local media that Sukhoi military jet crashed while trying to take off from Russia’s Hmeimim base on Tuesday in which the crew of the jet was killed.

He added that the crew did not have time to eject and died while accelerating for takeoff and it broke up, however the media did not mentioned how many crew members died in it.

Russia are supporting Syria and regime of President Bashar Al-Asaad since 2015 and carrying out around 150 airstrike per day against the IS militants.

Last month a Russian general was killed near the eastern city of Deir Ezzor, where Russian special forces are participating in the regime’s ground offensive.
