Saudi Arabia extends amnesty period for illegal immigrants

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has extended the amnesty period for one month for all illegal foreign workers, including Pakistani immigrants, to regularize their status or return to their country without any persecution.

The Interior Ministry of Saudi Arabia said that the one month period would be started from September 16 and after the security forces will launch major crackdown against the illegal immigrants and no one will be spared in this regard.

Pakistan’s embassy in Riyadh appreciated the extension of amnesty gesture and also urging the Pakistanis who are living in the Saudi Arabia illegally should take advantage from it and avoid the jail if they would arrest in this regard.
