SBBWUP celebrates Alumni reunion

PESHAWAR: Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar celebrated 2nd Alumni Reunion at Main Campus of the university. Prof. Dr. Razia Dr. Sultana, Vice Chancellor. SBBWUP was the Chief Guest of the event. Mr. Nasarullah, Additional; Political Agent Kurram Agency and Mr. Usman, CEO, Liaison Corporation Peshawar were also present at the event.

130 Alumna’s joined the current students in the reunion celebrations working in different reputed institutions. The students from different departments presented different performances and a culture show.

Six students were awarded cash prizes from the Vice Chancellor as a token of appreciation on acquiring positions in Poster Competition, English and Urdu Debate Competitions held for the 15 Years completion celebrations of Higher Education Commission, Islamabad.

2 Alumna’s shared their success stories and the role of SBBWUP and its staff in achieving a better place in the community. One of the Alumna, Ayesha Iqbal, department of Political Science who availed 6 months internship opportunity at Senate of Pakistan provided under the umbrella of formal MoU signed between Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University Peshawar and Senate of Pakistan in 2015 and is currently working as Parliamentary Associate with the Ex- Minister Ms. Anisa Zeb at KP Assembly, shared her thoughts with the audience and stated that the university has equipped her with all the necessary grooming required to work in a professional environment. She thanked the Vice Chancellor for providing an opportunity which opened new avenues of success for her.

On the occasion, Dr. Sultana welcomed the students and expressed her happiness on meeting the graduates once again. She stated that students are the main assets of a university. They are the reason why we are here. She said that our main aim is not only to equip the students academically but to furnish their skills that may become a powerful tool for them. She added that our vision includes to prepare them for facing the challenges of real life.

Our efforts are to provide more and more opportunities for the students both academically and skill centered. For the said purpose we have signed Memorandum of Understanding with different reputed institutions and organizations for research, student/ faculty exchange and graduate employment purpose.

She added that with the complete support of Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 29 students of our university will go to China under the CPEC project to learn Chinese Language for which we are deeply thankful to the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Moreover said that we offer different scholarships to the students funded by HEC and other institutions but we would like to request the Provincial Government to grant scholarships for the students too so that we may be able to facilitate and educate more and more students.

Further she added that we intend to hold this event annually.
