SC completes hearing of Imran Khan disqualification case

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar said while hearing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s ineligibility case that one lac pounds in Niazi Services Limited account were Imran’s assets that remained undeclared.

The chief justice remarked that the Supreme Court (SC) is not yet reserving the verdict, and will inquire if anything further is required.

Petitioner Hanif Abbasi’s counsel Akram Sheikh said while giving his arguments that there are different addresses, fax numbers and signatures of Imran Khan in two letters, and he used the letterhead of his cancer hospital.

Sheikh continued that it has not been clarified that whether Imran Khan paid 79,000 pounds for Bani Gala property or Jemima. Imran has declared his income of 21 million from 1982 to 2002, whereas, the construction on his property cost 70 million, he maintained.

Justice Faisal Arab gave his remarks that apart from the flat, no other asset of Niazi Services Limited has been revealed so far, upon which Akram Sheikh replied that there are not enough sources to find them. Imran tried to hide behind his offshore company and ex-wife, and gave different statements in every reply, he added.
