KABUL (BNA): In a significant announcement, the Supreme Court of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has ordered the release and reduction of prison sentences for eligible prisoners across the country on the occasion of Eid ul-Adha.
This decision was made in accordance with the auspicious order No. (4414) dated 28/8/1445 AH by the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, led by the Supreme leader.
Following thorough evaluation, a total of (349) prisoners were deemed eligible for amnesty and subsequently released from various prisons across the country.
Additionally, (270) other prisoners were identified as eligible for a reduction in their prison terms, thereby allowing them to serve a shorter duration.
The decision to release and reduce the sentences of these prisoners serves as a compassionate gesture on the joyous occasion of Eid, fostering an atmosphere of goodwill and forgiveness. The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan stands committed to upholding justice and ensuring the welfare of its citizens.
The release and reduction of prison sentences have brought a sense of relief to the prisoners and their families, who can now celebrate Eid with renewed hope and optimism for the future.
