F.P. Report

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday rejected former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s petition to club together the three references filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau.

This was second time that the former premier trying to seek clubbing the NAB’s references against him and the first attempt was turned down on December 2 by the registrar of Supreme court.

The ousted premier claimed that it is clearly violation of law by filing three separate references and it is also violation of basic fundamental rights of Nawaz Sharif.

However, the Supreme Court on Thursday upheld the registrar’s objections against Sharif’s petition and dismissed the Nawaz petitions for second time.

Sharif had also asked the SC to declare his lifetime disqualification from holding a public office as illegal. But the SC questioned how Sharif can challenge his disqualification when his review petition has already been rejected.
