ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the bail of Captain (r) Safdar, husband of Maryam Nawaz, and rejected the National Accountability Bureau (NAB)’s petition, seeking cancellation of his bail.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqbi Nisar asked the counsel for the anti-corruption watchdog as to why the apex court should intervene in the matter when the high court had announced its verdict.
When the counsel for NAB insisted on cancellation of bail, the CJP said that Captain (r) Safdar was not going anywhere and that he was appearing before the court on regular basis.
The court after hearing of arguments dismissed the NAB’s plea against the bail granted to Captain (r) Safdar.
