SCA regional office building inaugurates in Wardak

KABUL: The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) has inaugurated a newly-constructed building for its regional office in Maidan Wardak.

A statement from the Maidan Wardak provincial media office to Pajhwok Afghan News said the four-storey building cost 78 million afghanis and was completed within two years.

Shafiullah Sharifi, the Swedish Committee’s regional office head in Maidan Wardak, told Pajhwok the building was constructed on 2.5 acres of land dedicated by the municipality.

At the building’s inauguration ceremony, Governor Muzafaruddin Yamin highly appreciated SCA employees for their humanitarian assistance with the Afghanistan people over the four decades.

Yamin added SCA projects were related to good governance, rural livelihood, rehabilitation of disabled people, education, health and human rights.

About the peace process, the governor said war could not resolve the Afghan conflict, but they wanted a peace that honored all Afghans and ensured their safety. “For peace, we are ready to render any sacrifice.”

Meanwhile, SCA’s general director expressed happiness over construction of the building and said the SCA was committed to helping the Afghanistan people.

Haji Akhtar Mohammad Tahiri, the Provincial Council chairman, also thanked the SCA team and said the provincial council was ready to extend every support to the committee in areas education and health. (Pajhwok)
