Scanner installed at Bacha Khan Airport

PESHAWAR: In order to avoid spreading coronavirus, the concerned quarter has installed a modern scanner at Bacha Khan Airport Peshawar along with adopting precautionary steps.

Chief Operation Officer of Abdur Rehman Abbasi on Sunday in a news release has said that screening of those passengers entering Pakistan and going out has been started and for this purpose, a modern scanner has been installed. He informed a help desk at internal gate of airport for passengers who come from various areas of the country has been established.

He further added that medical aid will also be provided to passengers on the internal gate along with screening. On the recommendation of World Health Organization (WHO) and Focal Person of Health, a spray on daily basis is being done in cargo area, lounges, halls, waiting areas, bathrooms and other areas to protect people from virus, he added.

Mr Abbasi informed that screening of passengers travelling inside the country has also been started and personnel who deployed on security have been directed to let only one person enter into airport premises for receiving and leaving passengers at airport.

He categorically said that all precautionary steps have been taken to secure and protect passengers from coronavirus and ensure all arrangements and preparations. The aim of the steps taken was to avoid spreading coronavirus and check passengers with modern technology which has been installed by them, he added.

He appealed the people to cooperate staff of the airport and do not come more than a single person with passenger and play due role in this regard.
