SCBA meets CJP and IHC CJ

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President Mian Muhammad Rauf Atta met Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi and Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq in Islamabad,  a press release said on Saturday.

Accompanied by Balochistan High Court Bar Association President Mir Attaullah, Atta held discussions on the overall performance of the judiciary, ongoing reforms, and steps taken to enhance judicial efficiency.

During the meeting, he commended CJP Yahya Afridi for implementing measures that have significantly reduced case pendency in courts. 

He also lauded the Chief Justice’s nationwide visits to various Bar Associations, recognizing them as vital efforts to address the concerns of the legal fraternity at the grassroots level.

“These steps are crucial for ensuring a more vibrant and efficient judicial system,” Atta said and praised the Chief Justice’s role as Chairman of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP), endorsing recent judicial appointments made by the commission as timely and necessary.

In his subsequent meeting with Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Aamer Farooq, the SCBA president appreciated the recent appointments and transfers of Additional Judges, particularly those from Balochistan, acknowledging them as a positive step toward a more inclusive judiciary.

The meetings underscored the commitment of both the judiciary and the legal community to strengthening Pakistan’s judicial framework and improving access to justice across the country.
