Schoolchildren in remote villages get uniform, books
ZHOB: In order to encourage the school children and promote education in far-flung areas of the district, Balochistan Rural Support Program under Program for Poverty Reduction project distributed free school uniform, books, note-books, reading-writing material and sports items among students of ten schools during an impressive and colorful event held in union council Badinzai.
Excitement and happiness of the children knew no bounds, when they received the colorful school bags and other stationary items. Deputy Commissioner Zhob was the chief guest of the event. Those in attendance were including Project Officer PPR Quttab Mandokhail, District Officer Education Sheikh Musa Khan Mandokhail, Deputy District Education Officer Abdul Ghaffar Mandokhail, Coordinator Education Support Program Razziq Jan Kakar, teachers, parents and community members in a large number.
Speaking on the occasion Project Officer Quttab Mandokhail said that hundreds of sets of books, note-books, uniform and stationary items were distributed among boys and girls of the government-run schools in different villages.
“To highlight the importance of education, different motivational activities have been initiated,” adding sports competitions have also been organized at UC level to promote peace and harmony among the communities. The officer said.
Deputy Commissioner and Education Officers on the occasion said that the students are the asset of nation; no stone will be left unturned to safeguard their future. They also appreciated the effective role of BRSP in education sector and said the organization has been covering series of activities at the community level aimed at improving the living standard of people, educating and providing health facilities in the poverty stricken district.
