Secretary petroleum, AD FIA appears before PHC

PESHAWAR: Secretary Petroleum Ministry and Additional Director Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) crime wing appeared before Peshawar High Court (PHC) in case regarding stealing of crude oil in Karak district, on Tuesday.

Additional Director FIA informed PHC that National Accountability Bureau has returned inquiry to the department and FIA had reinitiated the inquiry to probe the matter.

Inquiry Officer of FIA Irfan also appeared before court and informed that petroleum did not cooperated with him and no expertise was provide after many letters.

Secretary Petroleum Ministry Mian Asad Haya-u-Din apologize before court and informed that Nar Petro Tech company has been transferred to petroleum division Ministry of Commerce which will improve technical expertise of the ministry in this regard.

Secretary Ministry of Petroleum Asad Haya-u-Din requested for provision of three months to conclude the matter. The two-member bench of PHC comprising of Justice Rooh-ul-Amin and Justice Syed Arshad Ali directed respondents to submit report in last week of May 2021.
