Section 144 violators arrested in Landi Kotal

LANDI KOTAL: As many as hundred locals who violated section 144 were apprehended here in Landi Kotal Bazaar on Thursday.

The local administrative official said that on the repeated warning, some of the residents uselessly wondering in the Bazaar beside imposition of section 144 in the area. He added that on the strict directive of District Police officer (DPO), Khyber and Landi Kotal circle police officer, the police officials launched a massive operation in Landi Kotal Bazaar and adjacent areas, took in legal custody approximately 100 persons and shifted them to police station, Landi Kotal. Later on the assurance, the arrested persons were released, Station Home Officer (SHO), Landi Kotal informed.

Meanwhile on the instruction of Commandant Khyber Rifle, Col Bilal, the forces officials distributed face mask among the pedestrians, motorists and children and general masses in various sites of Landi Kotal. They also carried out announcement through mega phones persuaded locals to avoid gatherings that causing spread of deadly coronavirus.

Separately, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Allama Noorul Haq Qadri announced 5000 food packages to be granted to the deserving poor families of Landi Kotal and Jamrud. The package comprised flour, ghee, pulses; milk etc and in first phase it was given away to poor families of Piro Khel. According to the representative of the Federal Minister the rest of the packages would be distributed as per advise of local elders to the poor families, affected by the coronavirus.
