Security arrangements for Ashura finalized

KARACHI: In order to ensure the security on the 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram all the arrangements were finalized before the Ashura to provide security to the Muharram procession and congregations.

Karachi traffic police has announced alternate routes and traffic arrangements for the next three days to keep in view the Muhrram processions.

The main congregations and Muharram processions will start after getting clearance from bomb disposal squad and Police officials and sniper squads will be deployed at different buildings.

Jinnah Hospital and Abbasi Shaheed Hospital have been directed to make special arrangements for dealing with any eventuality during 8th, 9th and 10th Muharram.

Similarly, CM Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif directed the concerned officials to provide full proof security to the Imambaargahs, mosques, shrines and other places of worship during the Muharram.

Shahbaz said while reviewing the security plan, that local bodies representatives can play a important role to keep the religious harmony during Muharram.

Mobile service will also be suspended in some parts of the Sindh and Punjab during the Muharram processions.
