ISLAMABAD: The Senate of Pakistan likely to pass the delimitation of constituencies’ bill on Monday (today) after the successful backdoor contacts between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
The bill has already been adopted by the National Assembly, but the government was failed to approve it from the senate despite repeated attempts.
Earlier on November 27, the voting on the delimitation bill 2017 was postponed for the fourth time because the required number of senators was not present in the house.
Private news channel reported that the PPP agreed to assist the ruling party over some conditions on Sunday and PPP said that it will only accept one election based on the new delimitation bill.
According to the new delimitation of constituencies, Punjab’s seat share in the National Assembly will decrease by nine seats, while Islamabad will get one more seat, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa five and Balochistan three more.
NA seats for FATA and Sindh will remain unchanged.
