Senate resolution condemns Israeli actions, mourns martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh

ISLAMABAD: The Senate of Pakistan Monday adopted a resolution unanimously mourning the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, a prominent leader of Hamas, who was killed in a rocket fire in Iran.

Senator Palwasha Mohammad Zai Khan introduced the resolution. It was approved by the house unanimously.

“This house expresses deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh in a Zionist attack,” the resolution stated.

“This house condemns Israel’s human rights violations,” the resolution declared, emphasizing the need for accountability.

The resolution also addressed the recent attacks in Beirut and the extensive violence in Palestine, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands, including 250 innocent civilians.

“This house condemns the unprovoked bombing in Beirut and the killing of 250 innocent civilians in Palestine, among thousands of others,” it stated.

The resolution further noted that Israel is adopting the form of an international criminal and terrorist state, adding that “Israel is attacking Muslim countries without any justification.”

The resolution recommended that the Senate of Pakistan strongly recommend that all Islamic countries, the OIC, and particularly the Islamic nations unite to stop Israel from its terrorist actions.

Additionally, the resolution called for the end of the siege on Gaza, ensuring emergency aid for the hungry and injured citizens, and the immediate cessation of the bombings in Gaza.
