Senior lawyer of PHC gunned down in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A senior lawyer of Peshawar High Court was gunned down over land dispute in jurisdiction of Gulberg police station here on Monday.

According to police, a senior lawyer identified as Niazmen Shah and his father Salih Shah on way to home when the gunmen opened indiscriminate firing on them in a result the lawyer died on the spot.

The suspected persons managed to escape from the scene after committing crime.

The angry relatives of deceased attack the accused home situated in Kottla Mohsin Khan and set fire, as a result valuable goods of home spoiled and no one injured in the incident. Rescue 1122 and police teams reached the spot and covered the area.

Meanwhile, Peshawar High Court pronounced one day protest on Tuesday and demanded arrests of accused and provided them exemplary punishment.  

SSP Operation Javed Iqbal took notice of the incident and summoned report from SP City Shafi Ullah Gundhpur within 24 hours.   

Police registered First Information Report (FIR) against accused and started further investigation.
