SEPA stops operations of polluting factory of recycling

KARACHI: On the directives of Advisor to CM Sindh on Law, Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development Barrister Murtuza Wahab and Secretary Environment, Climate Change & Coastal Development Department, Government of Sindh Khan Muhammad Mahar, a team of Sindh Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has stopped operations of a polluting factory situated at Dhabeji a small town of District Thatta.Waqar Hussain Phulpoto Additional Director General of SEPA was overseeing the action against the referred factory.

The factory was found recycling used metal items through harmful methods and polluting the surrounding areas.

People living around the factory could have suffered from respiratory, skin and nerves-related diseases owing to its air emissions.
