Seven die in 120 forest fires in Malakand Division

PESHAWAE: Seven people including a rescue official died while three others sustained burns in at least 120 incidents of forest fires in the Malakand division including Swat district over the past few days, on Thursday.

According to the detailed report on forest fires released by Malakand Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, cases have been registered against 30 people in connection with forest fires and 24 arrests have also been made.

The report says that every possible step is being taken to protect the forests as the administration, rescue service and Forest Department officials are on 24-hour vigil.
