WARDAK: As many as seven Taliban fighters were killed in an operation jointly conducted by Afghan security and Special Operations Forces in central Maidan Wardak province of Afghanistan.
The provincial police commandment told local media that the key Taliban leader Chief of military commission of Taliban group was killed among seven and at least five others were wounded.
He added that the operations were conducted against the Taliban in Deh Afghanan village and Qala-e-Ziarat which were situated in the center of the province. The Taliban leader which was killed in the operation identified as Qari Noor Aqha and he was main reason behind the Taliban activities in the area.
Police commandant claimed that more than 50 Taliban fighters were killed and dozens other were injured in the operation in the past one month.
