KABUL: At least 19 Taliban militants were arrested and another militant was wounded during the operations of the Afghan Special Forces which were conducted in past 24 hours.
Informed military sources said Wednesday that the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in southern Helmand detaining 4 Taliban fighters and destroying 5,000 pounds of homemade explosives and other bomb-making materials.
The sources further added a similar was conducted in Mohamad Agha district of Logar province during which 7 Taliban were arrested.
The Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Pul-e Alam district of Logar province wounding 1 Taliban and detaining 2 others.
The Afghan Special Forces conducted another raid in Zanakhan district of Ghazni destroying 10 kg of Hashish, 4 remote controlled IEDs and a small weapons cache, the sources said, adding that 6 Taliban fighters were detained in another operation conducted in Bak district of Khost province and a small weapons cache was destroyed.
