Shah Mehmood, Asad Umar escape from court after rejection of bail

ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi and party quitter Asad Umar escaped from H8 Kuchehri Court in Islamabad on Tuesday after being denied bail in the May 9 arson case.

A district and sessions court heard the bail applications of Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Asad Qaiser and Asad Umar in a case filed at Tarnol police station.

Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra, while announcing a reserved judgment on the petitions, dismissed the bail pleas of Asad Umar, Asad Qaiser and Shah Mahmood Qureshi.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar managed to evade arrest when the bail was rejected and immediately the two leaders escaped from Kuchehri in the same car.

A video of their escape has surfaced on social media in which it could be seen that the two leaders hurriedly got into the car and left immediately.
