Shahid Afridi tests positive for coronavirus

KARACHI: Star all-rounder and batting firepower Shahid Afridi Thursday contracted Covid-19 and quarantined himself for the next seven days at his residence in Karachi.

Afridi will not be able to play the initial games of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

He will undergo a corona test again after two days.

Earlier, Afridi suffered a back injury and his participation in the PSL matches became uncertain but now it has been confirmed that Afridi will not be playing initial matches.

Afridi suffered the injury during a practice session this week and then amid strong wind his pain increased.

He went to meet his family after breaking the biosecure bubble and now he will remain in quarantine at his home following PCB’s protocols.

Shahid Afridi will be reintegrated into the squad after seven days of quarantine and upon negative test PCR report.
