MUMBAI: ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is a social drama that depicts the contradiction between long hours of power cuts and the ironically high electricity bills that dig a hole in the common man’s pocket.
Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were shooting for the film in Tehri, Uttrakhand for a long time before they returned to Mumbai after wrapping up almost half of the film’s shooting. However, the latest reports suggest that the last schedule of the film might be shot in Pune.
Shraddha will be seen playing Lalita Nautiyal aka Nauti opposite Shahid Kapoor in their second project together after Haider, Yami Gautam is also a part of the film and will be seen joining the cast in the last schedule of the film.
Batti Gul Meter Chalu is being produced by KriArj Entertainment and will hit the theatres on August 31, 2018.
